The Doctoral Program in Architecture and Urban Science, Graduate School of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, will conduct a Dissertation Proposal Seminar by a student named Deni, focusing on the manifestation of functional mosque architecture in responding to the social realities of the people of Medan City.
This research discusses the approach of functional mosque architecture as a social institution that serves not only as a place of spiritual worship but also as a center for community empowerment. The study employs a dialectical approach to understand the relationship between the character of mosques and the social needs of the community in Medan City.
It is expected that this dissertation proposal seminar will provide scientific contributions to the development of mosque architecture studies, social sustainability, and the strengthening of the role of mosques in community life.
