The Student Association of Mining Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sumatera Utara (HMTP FT USU), conducted an educational initiative themed "Wise Use of Social Media" for students at SMP Negeri 4 Satu Atap Pantai Labu, located in Sarang Burung Village, Deli Serdang Regency. This activity is part of the HMTP work program for the 2026–2027 term, aimed at enhancing students' digital literacy, fostering ethical social media conduct, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically the goal of Quality Education (SDG 4).

On October 31, 2026, lecturers and students from the Mining Engineering department conducted a community service initiative at SMP Negeri 4 Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang, focusing on the theme of digital literacy for students. The activity aimed to enhance the students' knowledge, awareness, and sense of responsibility in utilizing digital technology in a positive, safe, and productive manner.

The Expert Panel Discussion (DPA), organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in Jakarta on 28–29 October 2026. The Expert Team formulated recommendations, emphasizing that addressing structural poverty requires the integration of well-targeted social protection and long-term economic empowerment, enabling communities to achieve prosperity and resilience in facing crises.

Training programs with international partners require academic and administrative preparations to ensure their implementation aligns with participants’ needs. A briefing serves as an initial step to communicate the activity plan, identify prospective participants, and adjust class schedules.

The commemoration of Youth Pledge Day serves as an opportunity to remember the commitment to unity formulated by Indonesia's younger generation. The values of togetherness, responsibility, and national spirit remain relevant in academic and institutional life.
