MEDAN, July 31, 2026 – The Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), conducted a mentoring session on the preparation of accreditation documents for the Independent Accreditation Agency for Engineering (LAM Teknik) on Friday, July 31, 2026. The activity forms part of the Study Program's strategic efforts to prepare for the accreditation process while strengthening a culture of continuous quality assurance.

As part of efforts to strengthen the connection between academic learning and industrial practice, students from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), undertook an industrial internship at PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) from July 1–31, 2026.

Sports activities within higher education institutions provide more than just opportunities for competition—they also promote physical well-being, teamwork, and interaction among members of the university community. This spirit was reflected in the volleyball tournament held as part of the celebrations for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 74th Anniversary of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU).

Graduates' readiness to enter the workforce can be strengthened through strategic partnerships between universities and industry. An internship program combined with structured evaluation stages has the potential to provide practical work experience while creating a clear pathway for graduates' professional development.

A shared understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the recognition of learning undertaken outside a student's study program is essential to supporting high-quality, well-structured, and sustainable higher education. This socialization session serves as a strategic initiative to align perspectives and strengthen academic administrators' understanding of the program's objectives, mechanisms, and governance, ensuring coordinated implementation while respecting the regulations and unique characteristics of each study program.
