Mining professional Heryks R. Awom shared his academic and professional experiences to inspire USU Mining Engineering students as they prepare for careers in the mining industry.

The Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, supports the improvement of cooperation quality through the Partner Satisfaction Survey. The survey results show positive responses from partners and serve as a basis for evaluation to strengthen services, governance, and partnership sustainability. This activity also supports the achievement of SDG 17, SDG 16, and SDG 4.

Residents of North Sumatra need to step up their vigilance against hydrometeorological disasters from late 2026 into early 2027 through BMKG monitoring, community preparedness, flood and landslide mitigation, and the strengthening of early warning systems.

USU Mining Engineering student Daffa Afsajulianda presented two research studies on flash flood preparedness in South Tapanuli and GIS-based sustainable development for the Toba Caldera Geopark at the 6th ICHELSS & 8th ICSSIS 2026 international conference in Medan.
