Medan – October 19, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering USU has implemented Distance Learning (PJJ) for all lecture activities from October 19–24, 2026. During this period, lectures have been transferred online through the e-learning platform as part of efforts to address the impact of haze caused by forest and land fires.
Although lectures are conducted online, administrative services and student services within FT USU continue to operate as usual. This policy is intended to ensure that academic processes continue without interrupting the supporting services required by students.
Students are also advised to limit their activities within the Faculty of Engineering USU and in crowded places, as well as to remain attentive to environmental conditions and weather developments. This advisory is part of preventive measures to maintain health and safety while haze conditions persist.
In addition, lecturers and students are advised to wear masks while carrying out their activities. These learning adjustments and preventive measures demonstrate the importance of institutional preparedness in responding to environmental conditions that may affect educational activities.
This policy primarily supports SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being through efforts to protect the health of the academic community. SDG 4 – Quality Education is relevant through the continuity of the learning process online, while SDG 13 – Climate Action is related to raising awareness and responding to the impacts of environmental events and forest and land fires.
