The Doctoral Program in Chemical Engineering Science, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (PDTK FT USU), is one of the five doctoral programs currently offered at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara. PDTK FT USU was established under Rector’s Decree No. 3138/UN5.1.R/SK/PRS/2011 and began admitting new students in 2012. The establishment of the program was driven by the availability of qualified human resources within the Department of Chemical Engineering, as well as the vast potential of North Sumatra, whose economy is supported by the industrial, trade, and plantation sectors—sectors that require an integrated management system to deliver optimal outcomes for the people of North Sumatra in particular, and Indonesia in general.
The academic activities of PDTK FT USU are located on Jalan Almamater, USU Campus, Medan. Currently, PDTK FT USU holds a “Very Good” accreditation status based on the decision of LAM Teknik No. 0163/SK/LAM Teknik/AD/XII/2022. The program has 14 permanent faculty members, 11 of whom hold the academic title of professor.
