Description
The Automotive and Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory, part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, USU, serves as a primary facility for undergraduate students to conduct experimental testing of internal combustion engine systems. After completing relevant coursework, students perform practical tests on engine performance characteristics such as power output, torque, fuel consumption, and engine speed. In the automotive domain, the laboratory supports testing of control systems in motor vehicles, especially those utilizing hybrid systems. Beyond undergraduate education, this laboratory also functions as a research hub for Master's and Doctoral students for their theses and dissertations. Available practical modules include Otto Cycle (gasoline engine) testing, Diesel Cycle (diesel engine) testing, Hybrid Vehicle Control Systems, and Technical Dynamics Systems (Wheel Alignment and Wheel Balancing).
