Faculty of Engineering

The Solar Laboratory is one of the laboratories under the Mechanical Engineering Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Led by Hendrik Voice Sihombing, ST., MT., this laboratory focuses on research and learning activities related to the conversion of solar energy into other usable forms, such as thermal and electrical energy.

The core scientific disciplines studied in this laboratory include:

• Mass Transfer

The Solar Laboratory serves as a key facility for supporting education and the development of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar energy, which plays an increasingly important role in addressing future sustainable energy challenges. Through practicum sessions and research activities, students and faculty are encouraged to develop efficient and practical solar energy-based technical solutions.
