The Structural Laboratory is part of the Structural Expertise Group (KBK Struktur) under the Department of Civil Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara. It focuses on education and research in the field of building structures, including materials such as concrete, steel, and other construction components. This laboratory plays a key role in supporting both student learning activities and faculty research related to structural analysis and strength. With a vision to become a leading structural laboratory with global competitiveness and a foundation in local excellence, it continually advances in response to evolving challenges. The laboratory also supports the needs of the construction industry by offering a range of testing services, including round concrete column testing, assembled C-channel column testing, brick column testing, slab flexural testing, concrete beam flexural testing, and pushover testing on masonry-infilled frames. Additionally, the Structural Laboratory fosters the development of students' technical competencies to prepare them for real-world structural challenges in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
