The Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has partnered with PT Musim Mas to enhance process safety capacity and competency for both students and faculty members. One tangible outcome of this collaboration was the organization of a Process Safety Management (PSM) Training, held on June 2, 2025, at the Smart Classroom of USU’s Chemical Engineering Department.

Through this activity, students gained direct insights from industry practitioners on the importance of implementing process safety systems in the workplace, covering topics such as hazard identification, risk management, and real-world case studies of industrial accidents. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to producing graduates who are not only technically proficient but also highly aware of safety and sustainability aspects in chemical engineering practice.
