The Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has established collaborations with two major companies in the vegetable oil processing industry—PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia and PT Multimas Nabati Asahan—for the implementation of the Industrial Internship and Industrial Practice Lecture programs.

This initiative is part of the 2024 Kampus Merdeka Competition Program (PKKM), aimed at providing students with hands-on experience in an industrial work environment. Through this collaboration, USU Chemical Engineering students gain the opportunity to observe and participate in the production processes of vegetable oil, quality control activities, and the management of large-scale industrial systems.

This partnership not only enhances students' technical skills and practical insights, but also strengthens the collaboration between academia and industry in preparing high-quality graduates who are job-ready and aligned with current industry needs.
