The Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has established a collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) under the University Flagship Collaborative Research Program (PKUU-PT) for institutions ranked QS WUR 501–1000, in partnership with Associate Professor Dr. Sunarti binti Abdul Rahman.

This collaboration focuses on joint research development in the fields of process engineering and sustainable energy, as part of the program's efforts to promote internationalization and strengthen research capacity.

In addition, Universiti Malaysia Pahang also serves as a Co-Organizer of the 3rd International Symposium of Reaction Engineering, Catalysis & Sustainable Energy (RECaSE2025), which will be held on July 2, 2025. This involvement marks a strategic collaboration in hosting an international scientific forum that brings together academics and researchers from various countries.
