The Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has established a collaboration with the University of Malaya, Malaysia, to support the USU Equity Project: Scientific Cluster Development. This partnership includes joint research collaboration with Dr. Onn Chiu Chuen from the University of Malaya in the area of Life Cycle Assessment cluster development.

In addition, as part of strengthening international academic networks, an International Guest Lecture was held on October 14 and 15, 2024, featuring Dr. Noor Zalina Mahmood from the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of Malaya, with the topic “Solid Waste Treatment.”

This initiative aims to broaden the perspectives of students and faculty on waste management issues while fostering impactful cross-border collaboration in research and education.
