On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) hosted an academic visit from the Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI). The event was held in the Equity Room, 3rd Floor, USU Rectorate Building.

The academic visit was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPM (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU), and was also attended by Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng. (Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Engineering), Ir. Aulia Ishak, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Head of the Industrial Engineering Study Program), Suprianto, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Secretary of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program), and two representatives from UniKL MSI: Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Al-Hapis Abdul Razak and Dr. Jum'azulhisham Abdul Shukor.

The main purpose of this visit was to provide a brief introduction to UniKL MSI and to discuss potential collaboration opportunities between UniKL MSI and the Faculty of Engineering USU, including student exchange programs, research collaborations, and other academic initiatives.
