Medan, 22 July 2026 – The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Leadership Handover Ceremony for the Chair of DWP FT USU, marking the transition from the 2021–2026 leadership period to the 2026–2031 term. The ceremony took place in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the Faculty of Engineering.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T., Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni; Erna Kurnia, First Vice Chair of DWP FT USU for the 2021–2026 term; as well as members of DWP FT USU.
The handover officially marked the transition of leadership from Prof. Ayodhia Pitaloka Pasaribu, Chair of DWP FT USU for the 2021–2026 period, to Meriesta Dewi, who will serve as Chair for the 2026–2031 term. The occasion signified the beginning of a new chapter in the organization's leadership and governance.
The ceremony included the formal transfer of responsibilities, followed by a fellowship session that provided an opportunity for members to strengthen communication and foster collaboration. In addition to marking the leadership transition, the gathering was intended to support effective coordination between the outgoing and incoming management teams, ensuring the continuity of organizational programs and activities.
From a sustainable development perspective, the event contributes primarily to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by promoting an orderly leadership transition that strengthens organizational governance and institutional continuity. It also aligns with SDG 5: Gender Equality by highlighting women's leadership and active participation within the organizational structure of DWP FT USU.
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to supporting organizational governance that is well-structured, collaborative, and sustainable. Through the leadership of DWP FT USU for the 2026–2031 period, the faculty hopes to further strengthen communication, solidarity, and cooperation among members as part of fostering a stronger institutional community.
