The Industrial Engineering Study Program of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully conducted an excursion to PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (INALUM) on November 28, 2023. The activity aimed to provide students with firsthand insights into the aluminium production process, a key sector in Indonesia’s industrial landscape. During the visit, the students were welcomed by PT INALUM representatives, who delivered presentations on the company's history, production processes, and its contributions to the nation’s industrial development.

Following the presentations, the event continued with an interactive question-and-answer session between the students and PT INALUM representatives. This discussion allowed students to delve deeper into the challenges and innovations within the aluminium industry. The excursion concluded with a field visit to PT INALUM’s production facilities, giving students a direct view of the operational processes and technologies utilized in aluminium manufacturing. This educational visit is expected to enhance the knowledge and experience of USU Industrial Engineering students as they prepare for their future careers
