The sustainability of livable formal housing is the main goal in the framework of formal housing development in urban areas. The livability level of formal housing will affect the value and price of residential land. Maintaining the level of vitality of public spaces in housing is one of the determinants of this sustainability. This study aims to examine the process of transforming housing-scale public spaces that have occurred after going through four decades. And identify the factors that influence the transformation.

This research was conducted by Dr. Ir. Dwira Nirfalini Aulia M.Sc. and the team at the USU Architecture Study Program which was funded by the DRPM Grant through the Basic Research scheme.
