Civil Engineering students from USU conducted a Field Lecture to the Ular River Irrigation Dam, Serdang Bedagai, on Monday, June 17, 2019. This student activity was accompanied by USU Civil Engineering Lecturers, Ivan Indrawan, ST, MT, and Riza Inanda Siregar, ST, MT. This field lecture aimed to provide additional information related to theoretical lessons in the field so that students could directly observe conditions in the field corresponding to what they learned in the Water Buildings class.
The Ular River irrigation dam accommodates an irrigation area of 18,500 Ha, making it one of the largest irrigation dams in North Sumatra. This irrigation dam, which is 97.5 meters wide, has 8 intake gates and three scouring gates.
