Medan – On October 19, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering USU conducted the Preparation Meeting for the LAM Teknik Accreditation Visitation in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the FT USU Building. This meeting was organized as part of the operational preparation for field accreditation assessments for the Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering (S3), the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering (S1), and the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering (S1).

The meeting was officially opened by the Dean of FT USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T. In her opening remarks, the Dean emphasized the critical importance of structured coordination among faculty leadership, study program managers, faculty administration, and accreditation teams to ensure every stage of visitation preparation proceeds in a clear and coordinated manner.
The event was attended by Reisya Ichwani, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni); Fitri Rowiyah Rambe, M.T. (Manager of Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure); and Emma Patricia Bangun, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. (Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization).
Representatives from the respective study programs included Ir. Gina Cynthia Raphita Hasibuan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Dr. M. Ridwan Anas, S.T., M.T. from the Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering; Dr. Tuti Sarma Sinaga, S.T., M.T., CPLM and Dr. Ir. Andri Nasution, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng. from the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering; as well as Prof. Dr. Ir. Hamidah Harahap, M.Sc. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Halimatuddahliana, S.T., M.Sc. from the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering, alongside the respective LAM Teknik accreditation teams from all three study programs.

Discussions focused directly on field visitation readiness for the three study programs under review. The forum provided an alignment platform to build a shared understanding, verify institutional readiness across departments, and identify key operational items requiring attention before the field assessment takes place. Cross-functional involvement at the faculty level is expected to reinforce structural support for study program needs throughout the preparation process.
Visitation preparation represents a pivotal milestone within external quality assurance mechanisms, offering study programs an opportunity to demonstrate operational consistency between academic delivery, governance practices, and accumulated institutional achievements. Consequently, close coordination between faculty management and study program units remains paramount to ensuring an optimal assessment process.
FT USU reaffirms its commitment to supporting continuous quality improvement in academic standards and study program governance. The accreditation process is approached not merely as a compliance exercise for performance metrics, but as a core component of evaluating and strengthening a culture of quality throughout the Faculty of Engineering USU.
This initiative primarily advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the reinforcement of academic quality assurance and program governance. Additionally, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) is supported through enhanced institutional coordination and rigorous preparation for external evaluation processes. FT USU continues to drive coordinated accreditation preparations as part of ongoing efforts to maintain and elevate the quality of higher education delivery.
