Medan, June 27, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), held a meeting to finalize the formation of the FT USU 2026 67th Anniversary Committee. The meeting was chaired by Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization.
The meeting discussed the division of responsibilities across several areas, including Public Relations, Publication, Documentation and Secretariat; Events; Catering; Logistics; and Sponsorship. The planned series of activities includes an Engineering Talk Show, Three-Minute Final Project or Thesis Competition, Job Fair and Engineering Project-Based Learning (PJBL) Expo & Bazaar, Engineering Show, Sport Day, Study Program Homecoming, Business Pitching, Public Lecture, and Fellowship Night.

Through the finalization meeting, FT USU sought to clarify responsibilities and coordination requirements among the various divisions as a basis for preparing the anniversary activities. As the available materials at this stage consisted of an invitation and a draft committee structure, the meeting outcomes, final committee composition, and follow-up decisions cannot yet be considered confirmed achievements.
The activity aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), as the planning process, role allocation, and internal coordination contribute to strengthening institutional governance. At this stage, the contribution can be identified primarily as an effort to establish a more organized working mechanism rather than as a completed outcome of the anniversary celebration.
FT USU continues to promote structured, collaborative, and accountable institutional event planning as part of its efforts to strengthen faculty governance. The finalization of the committee structure is expected to serve as a foundation for preparing the 67th FT USU Anniversary based on the agreed division of responsibilities.
