Medan, July 24, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., Dean of FT USU, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T., Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations, participated in the Universitas Sumatera Utara Learning Beyond the Study Program (PLPS) Partner Gathering.

The event began with opening remarks from the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, represented by Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations. This was followed by a presentation and briefing on the PLPS Program and the procedures for becoming a program partner, delivered by Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., Director of the Directorate of Educational Development.
Through this forum, FT USU strengthened communication with program administrators and partner institutions regarding their respective roles in implementing the PLPS program. The engagement is expected to support the provision of more contextual and meaningful learning experiences for students, although its long-term impact will depend on future implementation and evaluation.

This initiative primarily supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as the gathering serves as a platform for fostering shared understanding and collaboration among stakeholders in delivering learning programs. It also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by expanding students' opportunities to gain learning experiences beyond their study programs through strategic partnerships.

By participating in the PLPS Partner Gathering, FT USU reaffirmed its commitment to developing an adaptive, collaborative, and relevant educational ecosystem that responds to students' learning needs. The Faculty will continue to foster responsible partnerships as part of its efforts to strengthen educational quality and contribute to sustainable development.
