Community activities through sports and traditional games can provide opportunities to encourage physical activity while strengthening interaction among members of the academic community. During national celebrations and the university’s Dies Natalis, such activities also allow participants to build teamwork beyond their academic and work routines.

Medan, August 5, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), participated in a traditional clog race to celebrate the Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the Dies Natalis of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The clog race requires coordinated steps, communication, and teamwork among participants within a team. Through this group activity, the event has the potential to strengthen interaction, solidarity, and collaboration among members of the university community in a recreational atmosphere.

The activity primarily supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through physical activity and group recreation. It is also relevant to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through efforts to foster a positive, collaborative institutional environment that supports the well-being of the academic community. FT USU is committed to supporting activities that promote health, solidarity, and a sense of community within the university.
