The Chemical Engineering Student Association (HIMATEK) FT-USU held a guest lecture on Sustained Success of an Organization on September 26, 2018. Speaker Fanny Asrini, S.T., shared her professional experiences and insights to prepare Chemical Engineering students for the workforce.
The Chemical Engineering Student Association (HIMATEK) of FT-USU, during the 2018/2019 administration period, held its first guest lecture on September 26, 2018, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The speaker for this event was Fanny Asrini, S.T., an alumna of Chemical Engineering USU from the Class of 1991. She has extensive professional experience, including:
20 years in the pulp and paper industry
16 years in water and wastewater treatment plants
4 years in management systems
During her lecture, she presented a topic titled Sustained Success of an Organization. She provided insights on how Chemical Engineering alumni can contribute to the workforce and discussed how markets evaluate products based on packaging design, product quality, and safety standards.
The speaker encouraged students to think critically in solving problems. She also elaborated on the concept of quality management systems and the impacts they bring, offering valuable foundational knowledge for Chemical Engineering students in their future careers.
The event was attended by students from the 2015 to 2018 classes. It concluded with a symbolic gift presented by the Secretary of the Chemical Engineering Department, Mrs. Erni Misran, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., to the speaker.
The guest lecture ran smoothly, and it is hoped that every participant gained valuable knowledge from the event. Her presence was eagerly anticipated by the Chemical Engineering students, who sought inspiration and guidance for their future career paths.
