The Undergraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has received 'Accredited' status. This international accreditation was granted by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).
This accreditation was achieved in the discipline of Electrical, Computer, Communications, Telecommunication, and Similarly-named Engineering Programs, as stated in Accreditation Certificate No. 000147.A. The certificate was issued on March 31, 2024, in Jakarta and signed by the Chair of the IABEE Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Romli, M.Sc.St., IPU.
IABEE is one of Indonesia's independent accreditation bodies acknowledged by the government under Kepmendikbud No. 83/P/2020. Currently, IABEE holds 'Provisional Signatory' status in the Washington Accord (WA) and operates as an independent organization under PII. Its mission is to advance higher education management in engineering and computing fields.
With IABEE accreditation, the Undergraduate Program in Electrical Engineering at USU aims to equip its students with the skills necessary to excel in the professional world at an international level. This achievement is also expected to motivate other programs within the Faculty of Engineering at USU to enhance their standards toward international recognition.
