The XIth Engineer Induction Ceremony of the Professional Engineer Education Program (PS PPI) USU for the 2023/2024 Academic Year was held at the Faculty of Engineering USU Auditorium on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Seventeen graduates from the XIth cohort of the Professional Engineer Education Program (PS PPI) USU, out of 20 who successfully completed their studies through the regular and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) tracks, were inducted. The ceremony included 3 students from the regular track and 14 students from the RPL track.
The Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., who attended the event, highlighted that this induction ceremony is not merely a formal event but also a tangible step in fulfilling legal mandates and upholding the integrity of the profession.
The Chairman of PII North Sumatra Region, Dr. Ir. Ahmad Perwira Mulia Tarigan, M.Sc., stated that professional engineers worthy of joining PII are those with high integrity and a commitment not driven by materialism.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPM., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU, emphasized that professional engineers must possess fundamental competencies provided in the Professional Engineer Program, including ethics, occupational safety, environmental awareness, communication, team management, and networking.
