The Inauguration of Engineers Batch XII of the Engineer Professional Study Program (PS PPI) of the USU Faculty of Engineering for the Academic Year 2023/2024 took place on August 20, 2024, inaugurating 52 new engineers from the RPL and regular pathways. USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, emphasized the importance of integrity and dedication in the profession, as well as the contribution of engineers to the development of the country and global competitiveness.
The Inauguration of Engineers Batch XII of the Engineer Professional Study Program (PS PPI) of the USU Faculty of Engineering for the 2023/2024 Academic Year took place at the USU Faculty of Engineering Hall on Thursday (20/08/2024). Fifty-two new engineers from PS PPI USU, both from the Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) and Regular Pathways, have been inaugurated.
USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, who was also present, highlighted that today's inauguration ceremony was not just a formality ceremony but also a concrete step in carrying out the mandate of the law and upholding professional integrity and able to be fully dedicated to the profession by working and producing excellent work or innovation that not only makes the Universitas Sumatera Utara proud but also supports acceleration and equity that can realize a prosperous Indonesian society.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPM, as Dean of the USU Faculty of Engineering, emphasized that professional engineers must have the essential competencies taught in the engineer professional program, namely ethics, work safety, environment, communication, team management, and networking.
Dr. Eng. Ir. Listiani Nurul Huda, M.T., IPU, as Head of the FT USU Engineer Professional Study Program, also hopes that the new engineers can continue contributing to the country's development professionally and ethically and have good environmental insight. Not only is it practiced at the national level, but it is also expected to be competitive at the global level.
