The Faculty of Engineering Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), in collaboration with the Civil and Industrial Engineering Division of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII), successfully organized an Open Discussion on "Supporting Decarbonization & Zero Emission Policies" on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The event was held at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Auditorium, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) USU, Medan, and attended by the Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs within the Faculty of Engineering USU.

The discussion featured distinguished speakers, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPM (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU), Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, S.T., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng (Chairman of the MTI Ethics and Professional Council), and Ir. Insannul Kamil, M.Eng., Ph.D., ASEAN Eng. (Deputy Chairman for Public Works and Infrastructure at KADIN Indonesia). They explored various efforts and strategies to support decarbonization policies and emphasized the importance of implementing zero emissions for a sustainable future.


This event served as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences to foster innovations that support carbon emission reduction. The discussion, enthusiastically attended by participants, also opened opportunities for collaboration among academics, professionals, and industry stakeholders to strengthen their contributions in addressing climate change challenges.
