Medan, July 15, 2026 – As a follow-up to the cooperation agreement between PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) and Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU) hosted an audience session with representatives from PT BTN. The event provided an opportunity to introduce a range of banking services available to USU employees.

The session was attended by Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization; the Heads of the Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization Subdivision; the Human Resources and Finance Subdivision; and administrative staff representing each study program within the Faculty of Engineering.

During the session, representatives from BTN presented information on several banking products and services, including the Employee Loan Program (Kredit Ringan Karyawan), Home Ownership Loans (Kredit Pemilikan Rumah/KPR), and BTN e-channel services. The presentation also highlighted the special interest rates available to Universitas Sumatera Utara employees under the BTN Solusi partnership program.

The event provided employees with an initial opportunity to learn about the available banking services without implying that participants would utilize the facilities offered. Any subsequent use of these services remains subject to each employee's individual needs, financial capacity, personal decisions, and the applicable terms and conditions established by the bank.

This initiative primarily supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by providing employees with access to information on financial services. It also contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as the program represents the implementation of an institutional partnership between a higher education institution and the banking sector.

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to strengthening institutional governance and collaborative partnerships that benefit its employees and the broader academic community. Delivering partnership programs in an informative and responsible manner is part of FT USU's ongoing efforts to foster a sustainable and supportive institutional environment.
