The public lecture, "Engineering the Future with Schaeffler Solution," at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), explored technological innovations and the future of mobility. This event equipped students with insights into cutting-edge technology and collaboration opportunities with Schaeffler.
The lecture was held on November 15, 2024, at the Faculty of Engineering Hall, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The event aimed to discuss innovative solutions offered by Schaeffler, a global supplier for the automotive and industrial sectors. It provided students with in-depth understanding and knowledge about advanced technologies, sustainability in engineering, and the future of mobility, supported by practical case studies. Several media outlets, including Pijar USU, Media USU, LPM Teropong UMSU, Event Hunter Medan, Suara USU, BOPM Wacana, and LPM Neraca, attended the event.
The program began with a series of activities, including an opening by the master of ceremonies, a prayer, and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem. Speeches were delivered by the Chairperson of the Committee, Wildian Situmorang, and the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Program, Dr. Ir. M. Sabri, M.T., IPM. The event was attended by 220 students.
The core session featured a presentation by David Nevin, President of Bearing & Industrial Solutions Japan Southeast Asia Pacific. He discussed Schaeffler's company history, its global achievements, internal strengths, motivational values behind its actions, and a detailed presentation on the accomplishments of four generations. Additionally, he explained the company’s four divisions, product facilities, and the mobility solutions offered by Schaeffler.
The event included an in-depth sharing session about Schaeffler, fostering the hope of establishing closer collaboration between Schaeffler and the Faculty of Engineering at USU. Through this program, students were expected to gain a broader and clearer understanding of Schaeffler's innovations and achievements.
