On May 23, 2023, the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) successfully visited the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The event was led by the Vice Dean III of FT USU (Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN), the Secretary of the Department of Industrial Engineering (Rahmi Meilina Sari, S.T., M.M.), and the Head of the Master’s/Doctoral Program in Industrial Engineering (Ir. Rosnani Ginting, M.T., Ph.D).
This visit was part of a research collaboration effort to develop railway inspection and monitoring technology.
The delegation, led by Dr. Anat Hasap, Director of the Railway Transportation System Testing Center (RTTC), aimed to strengthen relations with USU and conduct a survey of railway tracks in Indonesia on May 23–24, 2023.
During the visit, both parties exchanged knowledge and experiences, as well as identified future collaboration opportunities. This partnership is expected to strengthen ties between TISTR and USU while contributing positively and significantly to the advancement of Indonesia's transportation sector.
