As part of the university’s commitment to enhancing education quality, all study programs under the Faculty of Engineering, including the Civil Engineering Department of Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) session for Quality Control Units (GKM) on Friday, May 24, 2019. The activity was part of the 12th Cycle for developing Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) documents, which include the Quality Policy, Manual, Standards, and Forms. These documents are aligned with the National Higher Education Standards as regulated by Ministry Regulation No. 44 of 2015.

The Bimtek took place at the Ikatsi Building of the Civil Engineering Department and was officially opened by the Vice Rector I of USU, accompanied by the Head of UMM and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Their presence signaled strong institutional support for improving quality assurance systems at USU. Through this activity, it is expected that each Quality Assurance Group (GJM and GKM) will be better equipped to compile quality documents that support the implementation of the university’s three main missions—education, research, and community service—in a systematic and standardized manner.
