The training featured an industrial professional, Mr. Surya Sukma, S.T., who has extensive experience in implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) across various industrial facilities. In her opening remarks, the Secretary of the Chemical Engineering Study Program at USU emphasized the importance for students to thoroughly understand process risks and safety management as essential preparation for entering the workforce.

The materials delivered included an introduction to Process Safety Management, hazard analysis, management of change, incident investigation, and building a safety culture within organizations. Participants were also given real-world case studies to analyze in groups, allowing them to grasp how PSM concepts are applied in actual industrial scenarios.

The training was conducted using an interactive approach, combining lectures, group discussions, and case simulations. Student enthusiasm was evident through numerous questions and active participation during the discussion sessions.

The event concluded with the awarding of a certificate of appreciation and a plaque to the instructor as a token of gratitude for his contribution and commitment to sharing knowledge and experience with the academic community of USU’s Chemical Engineering Study Program.
