The visit was attended by dozens of students accompanied by the course lecturer. Participants had the opportunity to explore INALUM's key facilities, including the smelting area, aluminium refining unit, and materials testing laboratory. During the visit, students engaged in direct discussions with engineers and industry practitioners to gain insights into the aluminium production process from upstream to downstream.
“This visit truly broadened our perspective on how the metallurgical principles we learn in class are applied in real-world industrial settings,” said one of the student participants. They also added that the experience strengthened their motivation to further explore the field of materials and metallurgical engineering.
INALUM warmly welcomed USU’s visit as part of the synergy between academia and industry. Such collaborations are considered essential in developing competent human resources who are well-prepared to face future industrial challenges.
