Students from the USU Civil Engineering Department conducted a field lecture on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at PT. Wijaya Karya Beton (Binjai). The agenda for the activity was a visit concerning the ins and outs of WIKA Beton, illustrating how WIKA Beton produces concrete, pre-stressed and non-pre-stressed concrete, which is distributed to every project in Sumatra. Then, WIKA also explained the manufacturing process of pre-stress and non-pre-stress, where pre-stress is further divided into two: pre-stressing and post-tensioning. Another agenda item was that WIKA also provided information on good and correct occupational health and safety (K3), and informed about what can be produced at WIKA Beton Binjai. The last session involved giving souvenirs, and finally a factory tour to see the manufacturing process and the finished forms that had been explained in the meeting room.
