As part of its commitment to strengthening the utilization of research outcomes for industrial applications and sustainable development, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), in collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture USU, has established a partnership with PTPN IV through a research commercialization initiative. The collaboration, held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, marked an important step in bridging academia and industry.
The collaboration was attended by Dr. Eng. Ir. Taufiq Bin Nur, S.T., M.Eng.Sc., Lecturer of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering USU; Ir. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU; and Prof. Dr. Mariani Br. Sembiring, S.P., M.P., Secretary of the Master's Program in Agrotechnology, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
Through this partnership, research outcomes developed by the USU academic community are expected to extend beyond scientific publications and be translated into technologies, products, and innovations that create added value for the plantation and agricultural sectors. The collaboration between academia and industry is expected to accelerate technology transfer while enhancing competitiveness and supporting sustainable development in Indonesia.
