The Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia held the Strategic Discussion Forum on the New National Industrialization Strategy (SBIN) together with university leaders on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
SBIN is designed to strengthen the direction of national industrial development in line with the Asta Cita Vision, with eight main targets that include economic resilience, downstream industrialization, human resource development, and the advancement of green industries. The SBIN approach is built upon four pillars: increasing value-added based on natural resources, integrating upstream–downstream industrial ecosystems, accelerating technology and digitalization, and developing sustainable industries.
The SBIN Discussion Forum was attended directly by Mr. Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita (Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia), along with all Directorates General, directors, and expert staff of the Ministry of Industry.
University leaders were also present, including those from UI, IPB, ITB, ITS, UNPAD, UGM, UNDIP, UNAIR, UNHAS, UNHAN, BINUS, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, as well as Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
This synergy reinforces the shared commitment to realizing Indonesia Emas 2045—a sovereign, competitive, and sustainable future for the nation.
