Mechanical Engineering students of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, successfully conducted an industrial visit to learn about plantation product processing technology. The visit took place at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV, located at Kebun Pabatu. The activity was accompanied by the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering USU, Dr. Ir. M. Sabri, M.T., IPM. Asean Eng.
This visit aimed to broaden the knowledge of USU Mechanical Engineering students about the processing and production of plantation products in North Sumatra. Notably, North Sumatra is the third-largest palm oil plantation area in Indonesia, with an estimated plantation area of 1,773,049 hectares in 2019—a significant increase from 1,342,523 hectares in 2016.

On this occasion, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Ir. M. Sabri, M.T., IPM. Asean Eng., also presented a plaque to PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV as a token of appreciation and a gesture of gratitude for their collaboration in facilitating the industrial visit.
