On Tuesday and Wednesday (October 21–22, 2025), the Faculty of Engineering held the “Workshop on Experiential Advising” with the theme “Inspiring and Meaningful Student Mentoring through the Impactful Academic Advising Program” at the Faculty of Engineering Hall, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU).

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPU (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, USU), and was also attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T. (Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Engineering, USU), Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng. (Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Engineering, USU), as well as lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering and several invited speakers, including:

  1. Dr. Tarmidi, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist

  2. Suri Mutia Siregar, S.Psi., M.Psi.

  3. Dina Nazriani, S.Psi., M.A.

This activity aimed to enhance lecturers’ ability to provide effective and meaningful mentoring for students, motivate students to achieve academic and professional goals, and build meaningful relationships between lecturers and students to improve the quality of education.
