Undergraduate Program

The Undergraduate Program in Logistics Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara was established in 2025 and began operations in the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The program is designed to address the challenges of logistics and supply chain management in the global and digital era, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and the utilization of technology. Logistics Engineering at USU implements an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach that integrates theoretical and practical learning through laboratories, simulations, and collaboration with industry and stakeholders. Grounded in the BINTANG values, the program is committed to producing graduates who are professional, adaptive, and ready to contribute to the development of national and global logistics.

Universitas Sumatera Utara proudly introduces the Undergraduate Program in Logistics Engineering, a program established to address the increasingly complex challenges of logistics and supply chain management in the global and digital era. This program is designed to produce graduates capable of planning, managing, and creating efficient, reliable, and sustainable logistics systems, particularly for soft commodities and their downstream products, which constitute a key strength of North Sumatra. The Logistics Engineering Study Program at USU offers learning that is not only oriented toward mastery of theoretical knowledge, but also toward practical experience and real-world problem solving through laboratory activities, logistics system simulations, data analysis, and collaboration with industry and stakeholders. Students are equipped with competencies in warehousing, transportation, distribution, procurement, logistics digitalization, as well as concepts of sustainable, green, and halal supply chains to meet the needs of present and future industries. We believe that a well-developed logistics system plays a crucial role in enhancing economic competitiveness, food security, and sustainable development. Therefore, the Logistics Engineering Study Program at USU provides broad opportunities for collaboration with government institutions, business and industry sectors, professional associations, and national and international organizations to create logistics innovations and solutions with tangible impacts on society.
