Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering Science

The Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering Science at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is an advanced study program that focuses on mechanical engineering in the context of development. Established in 2009, this program aims to develop science and technology in the field of mechanical engineering. The curriculum of this doctoral program is designed with an emphasis on doctoral research, which begins at the beginning of the semester with the courses Research Methodology and Proposal Preparation. The program also integrates interdisciplinary techniques to provide a broad and deep understanding of mechanical engineering and its future applications.

The vision of the Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering Science is to make it a doctoral program that has international competitiveness with academic excellence that reflects local wealth. Graduates of this program are expected to not only have strong technical competence, but also have a deep understanding of mechanical engineering applications in various cultural, environmental, and social contexts. The students who complete this study program will be awarded a Doctoral degree (Dr.) and are ready to contribute to the development of mechanical engineering science with dedication and broad understanding.

2009

Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering (hereinafter abbreviated as Prodi S3 TM), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara was formed in 2009 based on the Decree of the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara No.932/H5.1.R/SK/PRS/2009, dated May 11, 2009 signed by the Rector of USU. With the issuance of the decree, Prodi S3 TM USU began organizing Doctoral education in Mechanical Engineering in June 2009.
