Professor Nurlisa Ginting, M.Sc., Ph.D. is the second child of six siblings born to Professor Dr. H. Bachtiar Ginting, MPH (deceased) and Mrs. Hj. Sally Bangun. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Bandung Institute of Technology in 1986, her Master's degree in Urban Development Planning from University College London, UK in 1989, and her Doctorate in Urban Design from the School of Housing, Building and Planning, USM, Penang. Currently, she is a faculty member and professor at the USU Faculty of Engineering Undergraduate Program in Architecture
