The Undergraduate Program in Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering USU, held the SPA TK 2026 Studio Guest Lectures on September 15, 2026, at the FT USU Hall. The activity was part of the Integrated & Contextual Architectural Design Studio.
The activity was also attended by the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Architecture, Ar. Devin Defriza Harisdani, S.T., M.T., IAI, and featured Ar. Irwan Lubis, IAI, Principal Architect of BD Studio, as the speaker, with the theme “Glocal Architecture: How to Design Beyond the Limits with Local DNA.” Ar. Selly Veronica, S.T., M.T., IAI, served as the moderator.
The presence of practitioners in the studio provided students with an opportunity to connect academic approaches with professional experience in understanding design contexts.

This activity primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through enriched studio learning with practitioners. The discussion of contextual design that considers local identity and needs is also related to SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The Faculty of Engineering USU is committed to providing architectural learning experiences that are open to global developments while remaining rooted in the local context. This approach is expected to strengthen students' sensitivity in designing spaces that are relevant, distinctive, and responsible.
