October 1, 2026, the ARTUGUARD Team held a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, USU, after winning Third Place in the Business Plan category at the 12th International UTU Awards.
The team consisted of Muhammad Rafli Arrayyan, a student of Electrical Engineering with Student ID Number 230402105; Shintia Florensia Silaban, a student of Chemical Engineering with Student ID Number 230405093; and Hikmatul Ushwa Dalimunthe, a student of Chemical Engineering with Student ID Number 230405046. The ARTUGUARD Team received the “Third Place” award in the Business Plan category.

During the meeting, the team and the Dean discussed the role of lecturers as accelerators of student competition activities. Academic mentoring is considered capable of helping students refine ideas, develop competition strategies, and develop skills relevant to their fields of study and entrepreneurship.
The meeting served as an initial step toward strengthening institutional support for student achievements and the continuity of student participation in competitions. The meeting also discussed plans to establish a student team that could serve as mentors for future competition participants, as well as the idea of organizing an international competition by FT USU.
This activity primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through strengthening learning experiences, mentoring, and student competency development beyond the classroom. SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is also relevant because business plan competitions encourage students to develop innovative ideas and entrepreneurial capacities.
