On September 23, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering USU, together with Daikin Medan, organized the Daikin Goes to Campus Guest Lecture at the Multipurpose Hall of the Faculty of Engineering USU. The activity featured the topics “Introduction to AC” and “How to Design AC”.
The activity was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T. (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU), who also delivered opening remarks, as well as Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T. (Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs); Emma Patricia Bangun, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. (Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization); Reisya Ichwani, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs); Ir. Andianto Pintoro, S.T., M.T. (Head of the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering); and Dian Morfi Nasution, S.T., M.T. (Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering).

Representatives of Daikin Medan also attended the activity, namely Ahmadil Kahfi, Supervisor of Project Sales Engineer; Elsa Gultom from HRGA; Stephanus Boltzman, Technical Engineer; Rizki Hermawan, External Trainer; and Fhendy from Proshop Sales.
Through this guest lecture, students were introduced to air conditioning systems and the basic design process from a practitioner's perspective. The forum broadened the context of Mechanical Engineering students' learning by connecting academic knowledge with industry experience.

This activity primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through enriching students' learning with practitioner-based experience. Its relevance to SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is reflected in the introduction to technology and the design process of air conditioning systems, while SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals is supported through the involvement of the Faculty of Engineering USU and Daikin Medan.
The Faculty of Engineering USU is committed to expanding contextual learning that helps students understand technological developments and the needs of the industrial sector.
