Ananda Pratama Panggabean, a student of the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), was successfully named among the Top 10 USU SDGs Ambassadors 2026. The announcement of the USU SDGs Ambassadors 2026 was held on July 29, 2026, at the Senate Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, USU Rector's Office Building.
This achievement reflects the active involvement of FT USU students in supporting the sustainable development agenda. Through the SDGs Ambassador selection process, students are provided with opportunities to develop their leadership, communication, and collaboration capacities, as well as their understanding of the implementation of SDG principles in higher education institutions and society.
Student participation in this activity also provides an opportunity to expand the role of young people as agents of change. Understanding sustainability issues is expected not to remain at the conceptual level but to be further developed through ideas, communication, and activities relevant to the needs of the surrounding environment.
This activity is primarily related to SDG 4: Quality Education, through the development of students' capacities and learning experiences beyond formal education. Participation as an SDGs Ambassador also has the potential to support SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening networks and collaboration in promoting the values of sustainable development.
FT USU continues to support students in participating in various activities that broaden their perspectives, strengthen leadership capacities, and foster awareness of sustainable development. This achievement is expected to encourage more students to contribute through ideas and actions that create positive impacts for the campus and society.
