Medan, August 5, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), together with the 2026 Dies Natalis Committee, held a meeting with the Executive Board of the USU Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (IKA FT USU).

The meeting marked an initial step toward building a shared commitment and strengthening alumni support for the planned Dies Natalis celebrations of the Faculty of Engineering USU, scheduled for late November 2026.

The meeting was attended by Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization, and Dr. Eng. Ir. Listiani Nurul Huda, M.T., IPU., Chair of the 2026 FT USU Dies Natalis Committee, along with representatives of IKA FT USU, including:

During the meeting, the Dies Natalis Committee presented an initial overview of the objectives, plans, and requirements for organizing the series of anniversary activities. FT USU expressed its hope for the support of IKA FT USU and the alumni associations of the various study programs in preparing for and ensuring the success of the Dies Natalis celebrations.

Alumni support is needed not only in organizing the activities but also in disseminating information and mobilizing alumni networks to encourage broad participation. Engagement across generations and study programs is expected to strengthen the sense of community and shared identity as members of the FT USU family.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to gather input, align responsibilities, and explore potential collaboration among the faculty, the Dies Natalis Committee, IKA FT USU, and study program alumni associations. This synergy is expected to contribute to an inclusive and meaningful Dies Natalis celebration that brings together members of the academic community and alumni from different generations.

The Faculty of Engineering USU remains committed to strengthening its relationship with alumni as strategic partners in advancing education, professional networks, and institutional development. The collective support of alumni is expected to make the 2026 Dies Natalis a meaningful opportunity to strengthen community ties while reinforcing FT USU’s role as an Impact-Oriented Engineering Faculty.
