Medan – September 23, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering USU received a visit from Universitas Teuku Umar (UTU) as part of the Visit and Discussion on Accreditation of the Engineer Professional Education Program (PSPPI), held in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the Faculty of Engineering USU.

The activity was opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T. (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU) and was also attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T. (Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs); Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization); Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN (Head of the Engineer Professional Education Program); Reisya Ichwani, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs); Emma Patricia Bangun, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. (Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization); and five representatives from Universitas Teuku Umar, namely Ir. Cut Suciatina Silvia, S.T., M.T. (Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Teuku Umar); Ir. Zakia, S.T., M.T., IPM.; Ir. Ling Pamungkas, S.T., M.T.;

The activity served as a discussion forum on the accreditation of the Engineer Professional Education Program (PSPPI) and quality management of professional education programs. The meeting enabled both parties to share perspectives and experiences that could serve as considerations for strengthening academic processes and quality assurance at their respective institutions.

The activity was conducted to exchange information, share experiences and lessons learned from practices implemented by the PSPPI of the Faculty of Engineering USU, as well as discuss the development and preparation of the curriculum, quality assurance system, academic governance, and other supporting aspects related to improving the quality of PSPPI implementation.

This activity primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through strengthening quality management in professional education. Its relevance to SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions is reflected in the focus on academic governance and accountability, while SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals is supported through the exchange of experiences between the Faculty of Engineering USU and UTU.

The Faculty of Engineering USU is committed to strengthening the quality of PSPPI through evaluation, inter-institutional learning, and follow-up actions in accordance with the needs of the study program.
