On September 18, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering USU held a Discussion on Strategies to Improve Lecturers' Publications for all Study Programs within FT USU.
The discussion was led by Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization) and Emma Patricia Bangun, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. (Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization), and was attended by representatives from each study program within FT USU, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Taslim, M.Si., IPM.; Ir. Gina Cynthia Raphita Hasibuan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Prof. Dr. Ir. Tulus Burhanuddin Sitorus, S.T., M.T., IPM.; Ir. Rivaldi Sidabutar, S.T., M.T.; Ar. Devin Defriza Harisdani, S.T., M.T., IAI; Ir. Andianto Pintoro, S.T., M.T.; Hajar Suwantoro, S.T., M.T.; Edi Yasa Ardiansyah, S.T., M.T.; Dr. Amir Husin, S.T., M.T.; Prof. Dr. Ir. Hamidah Harahap, M.Sc.; and Prof. Dr. Ir. Halimatuddahliana, S.T., M.Sc.
The forum focused on discussing efforts to improve the quality and quantity of lecturers' scientific publications and encourage publication performance across each study program.
This activity primarily supports SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through strengthening the research and knowledge dissemination ecosystem. Efforts to improve the academic capacity of lecturers and study programs are also related to SDG 4 – Quality Education.
FT USU is committed to strengthening a culture of research and publication through coordination across study programs. The formulation of clear and measurable follow-up actions is expected to transform the discussion outcomes into publication improvement measures that are relevant to the development of knowledge and academic quality.
