Medan – September 28, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering USU held a morning assembly, with Dr. Ir. Soeharwinto, S.T., M.T. serving as the assembly leader. In his remarks, he conveyed that one of the agendas to be faced in the next one to two weeks is the implementation of semester examinations, making the readiness and integrity of all assigned personnel a shared concern.
Education personnel assigned as examination proctors are expected to carry out their duties properly, maintain order during the examinations, and uphold the principle of integrity throughout the process. The role of proctors is an important part of supporting an orderly and accountable academic evaluation process.
The assembly remarks also addressed other academic activities, such as final result seminars, proposal seminars, thesis defenses, and final projects. Students need to receive clear information that they are not required to provide food or refreshments for examining lecturers.
This clarification is intended to maintain professional boundaries between students and examining lecturers while supporting objectivity in the assessment process. With clear and consistent governance, every academic evaluation process is expected to be conducted based on achievement, quality of work, and applicable academic regulations.
This activity primarily supports SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through strengthening integrity, accountability, and governance in the implementation of academic activities. SDG 4 – Quality Education is also relevant through efforts to maintain the quality and objectivity of the learning evaluation process.
