Medan, 3 August 2026 - The implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) requires systematic curriculum management and learning documentation. Information system support is essential to ensure that learning outcomes can be recorded, monitored, and managed more systematically by study programs.
As part of strengthening academic governance, the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU) conducted an Assistance Session on the Use of the Outcome-Based Education Information System (SI OBE). The activity took place at the FT USU Hall and involved faculty leadership and academic management representatives from the study programs.

The activity was attended by Dean of FT USU Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T., as well as the heads, secretaries, and curriculum teams of study programs within FT USU. The assistance was provided by Dewi Maya Sari Situmorang and Andini Pratiwi from the Directorate of Information Systems and Technology Development.
During the activity, participants received technical assistance on the use of SI OBE. The forum also provided an opportunity to discuss challenges and needs identified during the system data entry process, allowing study program managers to receive direct explanations regarding the procedures for using the system and managing data.
This assistance is expected to support curriculum management and learning process documentation in a more systematic, measurable, and integrated manner. However, the available materials do not yet include an evaluation of system usage, the completion rate of data entry, or changes in the quality of academic management following the activity; therefore, its impact cannot yet be stated as a measurable achievement.
This activity primarily supports SDG 4 - Quality Education through strengthening the capacity of study program managers to implement outcome-based education. The activity is also relevant to SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions through the development of more systematic and accountable academic governance. FT USU is committed to strengthening OBE implementation and the utilization of information systems to support continuous improvement in the quality of education.
