The HIMATEK FT USU LDK was attended by Chemical Engineering students through a series of activities designed to provide learning experiences outside the classroom. Through various materials, discussions, group games, simulations, and activities fostering togetherness, participants had the opportunity to develop communication skills, teamwork, decision-making, discipline, and responsibility.
The implementation of the activity at the Sibolangit Camping Ground also provided a different learning environment and encouraged participants to build cohesion and solidarity among students. Various group activities taught the importance of coordination, mutual respect, leadership, and the ability to solve problems together.
The LDK activity is expected to develop students who not only possess academic abilities but also have leadership character, integrity, concern for others, and teamwork skills. These competencies are important in preparing Chemical Engineering students to play an active role on campus, in society, and in the professional world.
Through this activity, HIMATEK FT USU also contributed to supporting student potential development and strengthening a positive organizational culture within the Chemical Engineering Study Program. The LDK activity also served as a means for students to build networks, strengthen relationships among students, and foster a sense of belonging to HIMATEK and the Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering USU.
This activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the development of student competencies and character beyond academic learning, as well as SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through the development of young people with integrity, leadership abilities, responsibility, and organizational experience.
