In Medan on September 22, 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., received an audience regarding plans for the implementation of the Industrial Engineering Fair, accompanied by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering, Dr. Tuti Sarma Sinaga, S.T., M.T., CPLM.

The Industrial Engineering Fair is planned to take place from November 27 to 29, 2026, under the theme “Boomerang Effect of Intelligent Growth”. The activity is designed as a platform that connects ideas, innovation, and real-world industrial challenges through various competitive and educational activities. Its objectives include fostering students' critical thinking, improving their ability to develop problem-solving ideas through case studies, and expanding relationships among students from national and international higher education institutions.

The activity's advisors include Dr. Tuti Sarma Sinaga, S.T., M.T., CPLM, and Dr. Ir. Andri Nasution, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., while Prof. Dr. Meilita Tryana Sembiring, S.T., M.T.; Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; Irwan Budiman, S.T., M.T.; and Akbar Gading Alfadli Harahap, S.T., M.T. serve as mentors.

This activity primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and competition-based learning. SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure is relevant through its focus on innovation and industrial challenges, while SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals is reflected in efforts to build networks with students from different higher education institutions, partners, and alumni.
